About me, d. ehmor
I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world, along the kanamaluka river of lutruwita (Tasmania, Australia).
My variety of work reflects my internal and external landscapes and the importance of curiosity, expression, and self-documentation. I am taken by the natural world and the spectrum of human emotion, and find that transposing what I experience into art makes this existence far more palatable and interesting.
I do my best to lean away from perfection and into exploration. The more jagged, loose, and unrefined I am on my quest for creation, the better.
Join me as we turn new leaves and hike actual and metaphorical mountains; your company is welcome.
Love,
d.

music

Since starting song-weaving as a lass at 12 years of age I am still doing so over a decade later. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to have shared my work through events both private and public. My previous shows have lead me to music festivals, house concerts, vineyards, and fundraisers to name a few.
I have opened for Kim Churchill, The Wolfe Brothers, played at Good Gumnuts Festival twice and Party In The Paddoc. I have worked with Kate Miller-Heidke on a 1:1 songwriting masterclass.
art

I am a self-taught artist, painting what sparks deep joy. I previously opened and ran a mini pop-up art gallery for 12 months along the kanamaluka river. My gallery held the artworks of 25 different local artists of all different mediums.
I primarily practice watercolour and ink however I can spill into mixed media, textile and photography. I stitch handmade journals that I use to encourage a more tactile style of life-documentation.
writing

Through my daily journal practice I am constantly penning new ideas and concepts for songs, poems and short stories. I publish a Substack dedicated to my Observations of the world around me. Self-publish my poems into zines, and of course share my secrets through indie folk songs.
I am a storyteller of the shorter kind, preferring to keep my stories to a minimum. I enjoy the challenge of being concise.
